In Angela Gentile's sculpture-jewels, the complexity of the human condition takes on particular importance, where stimuli and impulses are often deviated from functional trajectories, abolishing any mechanical causality. The concreteness of existential experience unfolds through continuous epiphanies that are knotted in ever-changing forms, between the immutable and the contingent. "We are made of the same matter as the stars, we carry within us the imprints of creation": a starting sign that has belonged to her since she was a child, that comes from afar and evolves, transforms into energy and tension ready to vanish among the waves like foam. Small sculptures as the results of minute and patient work, of a slow and meditative creative process, often suspended between form and thought. English: Forms metamorphosed by the wind, modeled by the magical and light touch of a breath, organic and carnal in the essentiality of a line that soars, stretches, harmonizes and pacifies the contrasts present in nature. The poetic observation point originates reticular membranes, spider webs that try to resist the wind, thin, minute traces, small signs and fragments-memorials of cosmic explosions. There is, in many works, a strong vertical tension that seems to arrive at a horizon of meaning, in its soaring upwards or in its sensual and sinuous curve. Karst sculptures or fragile like torn wings, welcoming like flowers that patiently observe the changing light. The metamorphosis, understood as a fundamental questioning on the essence of nature and the meaning of humanity, presents itself in the movement of his refined, sometimes ironic or dizzying line that dialogues with an extremely varied material (bronze, papier-mâché, precious metals, pearls, natural pigments). True conceptual works where the technique, very high and meticulous, shows how a bodily perception can expand into a creation that contains the fragile interdependence between man and nature. Daughters of deep silence, her creations humbly welcome the sublime vitality that emanates from natural elements, branches, leaves, filters ready to give us back elements of joy and positivity, as in a natural process of exchange. From this subtle weaving of signs emerges the strength and fragility of the feminine universe with its wounds that generate transformations, instruments of rebirth and resilience. Vibrations of the air, orchestral variations and ancestral perceptions of the senses in a final hymn to life, a vehicle of joy and sharing.
