In That Unexpected Visit, the line that divides ethical behavior from immoral behavior does not always have a linear progression and is a function of opportunities and situations.
The protagonist Ferruccio, an entrepreneur from the South, is proud of his morality. Only one flaw is recognizable: his passion for Diabolik, who was ultimately a thief. An ambitious wife, a sister who is the victim of childhood post-traumatic stress, a big-headed son and an accountant who is too friendly complete the picture of the story.

A charm that many screenplays exploit, and which is the result of a manufacturing defect of the human race. We are often attracted to bad guys! And so just as his generation had rooted for Diabolik, Lupin, Sandokan, pirates etc… now his children follow new “dark” protagonists from Scarface, Gomorra, Romanzo criminale, Mare fuori… more crude and violent but a consequence of the same fascinating aspect towards a spectator.

Has nothing changed? Maybe! An unusual subject for a comedy that generates a clumsy thriller that is all about laughter! Between gags, obsessions, phobias, great laughter and reflections, will the criminal part that is hidden in each of us win?
