📚 The greatness of the tammorra consists in being deeply popular. With its overwhelming rhythm it expresses a true vision of the world by the people, who have made it a flag of protest, but also of celebration of Values, including socialization and the concept of Life as struggle and sacrifice, which are affirmed in microhistory, that is, in the small history of every day.
At the same time, the tammorra has given rise to an encounter with the Great History or Macrohistory, within which it has intensely experienced the great Events of society, especially in the South. In this way, the tammorra has been the soundtrack of dreams and struggles, but also of defeats, that have alternated over the centuries that have often seen the people as protagonists on the stage of History.

Intellectuals and the people have sung the meeting between the tammorra and the protagonists of the Great History of the second Millennium: the “Stupor mundi” Frederick II of Swabia, the popular leader Masaniello, the martyrs of the Neapolitan Revolution of 1799, the ruthless brigands and victims, the heroic citizens and street urchins of the four Days of Naples. Thus ends with Tammorra and great History the Trilogy L’InCANTO della Tammorra, the oldest and most modern instrument of Italian popular music.
