MASDANZA: 30 Years of Commitment to Contemporary Dance.

In the framework of its 30th anniversary, MASDANZA, the International Contemporary Dance Festival of the Canary Islands, will present the MASDANZA-Spain program at the Cuyás Theater in October 2025, showcasing the talent, creativity, and diversity of performing arts that make up the contemporary Spanish choreographic landscape.

This commemorative proposal brings together works by prominent creators of the Spanish dance scene, such as Lorena Nogal (Barcelona), winner of the National Dance Award in the Performance category in 2024, who presents the piece Elogio de la Fisura Daniel Abreu (Tenerife), National Dance Award 2014 in the Performance category, who will present his work Dalet (Da) the company Lo Siento Mucho, made up of Carla Cervantes and Sandra Egido (Barcelona) winners of the Audience Award for Best Choreography at the 26th edition of MASDANZA who will present the piece El Cielo Sigue Intacto and finally, the work DIVA, the result of the collaboration between Sandra Salietti Aguilera (Barcelona), winner of the Audience Award for Best Performer at the 28th edition of the Festival, and Giovanni Insaudo (Italy), winner of the Audience Award for Best Choreography at the 25th edition of MASDANZA.

Founded in 1996 by dancer and choreographer Natalia Medina, MASDANZA received the EFFE Quality Seal in January 2019, awarded by the European Festivals Association, an initiative of the European Union, and was nominated for Best European Dance Festival. Over three decades, the festival has established itself as a leading platform for the promotion of contemporary dance at the regional, national, and international levels, contributing to the cultural legacy of the Canary Islands by bringing dance to all audiences and using it as a transformative tool for the community.
