Two thousand five hundred years ago a dramatic poet wrote a tragic trilogy that raises the need to establish a civic agreement that ends the endless cycles of revenge that ravage coexistence.
This poet, known as Aeschylus, conceives not only a work of art, but a vehicle to propose a radical change in the conception of justice. Through characters swept up in cycles of resentment and violence, Aeschylus shows us how, in an unexpected twist towards a tragically happy ending, gods and mortals join forces to found an institution that promises to put an end to vigilante justice, marking the birth of a new chapter in civilization.
This tension between the desire for personal vengeance and the search for justice through legal systems still resonates today, especially with the rise of media trials that often challenge the integrity of the judicial system.
The way in which public opinion, fueled by the media and social networks, can prejudge before an official verdict is handed down, brings us back to the dilemma of Orestes, harassed by the Furies and judged by forces beyond the court.
We are creating this Oresteia with the ambition of building a bridge between the myths of Ancient Greece and our present by infusing ancestral impulses and archetypes into the reality of our days.

KEYS TO THE STAGING
This production of Oresteia focuses on the power of the word, the sound space and the play with light. The text passes through and is amplified through the body of the actor. In a practically bare stage space, which allows the focus to be on the actor and his movements, which are integrated into a carefully designed sound and light environment. These auditory and visual atmospheres not only accompany the dramatic action, but also enhance its impact, creating a space that is apparently empty, but full of symbolism.
