Federico García Lorca was writing Comedia sin título when he was assassinated a few days after the military coup d'état that would end the Spanish Republic. El sueño de la vida, an alternative title for this Comedia sin título, puts us in clear connection with La vida es sueño by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, the author of reference for the poet from Granada. It is a mixture of social theatre, auto sacramental and literary experiment. From the third and last act, Lorca only left us one phrase: "Arcángeles, vistes de flaraes ascenden a los cielos" (Archangels, dressed in frills ascend to the heavens) and that is precisely where our journey through the work of Federico García Lorca begins, evoked from flamenco, from the dance and the dancing that flamenco summons.

() But, in reality, we are also in the golden age of flamenco, of flamenco dancing. This work, of course, has a continuity with El maleficio de la mariposa (The Curse of the Butterfly), our look at the so-called silver age, the dawn of flamenco considered as dance and as ballet. And if we dare to invoke the "gold" now, it is because of the obvious: everything that flamenco fans understand today was born in those years, not before.
