The second date of SoulBeat 205 arrives at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium with Combo Paradiso. Four of the greatest musicians of national soul and rock such as Juan Zelada, Julián Maeso, Adrián Costa and Alberto Anaut form the best imaginable combo in the national scene and venture to transcend the limits of the language with a proposal in Spanish, which brings soul to bolero and other genres of intense emotional charge in a mixed show determined by a unique force and personality.
In November 2020 Combo Paradiso recorded their first album at the Estudios del Náutico de San Vicente. This was their first work with their own songs. In May 2024 the band released 'Todo Bien todo el rato' with Calaverita Records, their second work recorded in the spring of 2023 at Cool Mood Studios by Pablo Díez. The choice of Combo Paradiso as a name is far from coincidental. This is a name that evokes the Latin condition of its members and their intention to find in their roots the inspiration for this new project, reaching out to the group of Latin American music through a common language and transferring it to their own musical language. All the background of its members comes from Afro-American music and Anglophile music, however in this work they search in their internal echoes to, without losing all the organic and genuine of their individual trajectories, find a new language that connects with new audiences and strengthens their long-standing followers through truthful music of undeniable quality.
Juan Zelada
He began his musical career in London, releasing an album with Decca Records (Universal UK) and the first 4 singles playing on BBC radio playlists. After several tours in the United Kingdom with his band, he would also open shows for Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, The Noisettes, Gavin de Graw, Amy Winehouse. He would end up participating in Jools Holland's radio show, playing at the Eurosonic festival, receiving the European Border Breaker Award in 2013, as a Spanish representative. In Spain he released 3 more albums with national tours and presence in the main national media. His collaborations include Bebe, Carolina de Juan (Morgan), ELE, Colectivo Panamera or Virginia Maestro.
Julián Maeso
He is seasoned in the national scene with The Sunday Drivers, The Blackbirds, Speaklow, The Sweet Vandals, Pájaro, Aurora and The Betrayers, Adrian Costa, Los Saxos del Averno and recently collaborating with Gran Cañón (along with Carlos Tarque, Leiva, Ovidi Tormo...) Maeso has been requested as an organist by Mclan, Quique Gonzalez, Jorge Pardo and in turn by great divas of Soul such as Irma Thomas, Betty Harrys and Martha High. As an artist of Sony Music he has released three albums, even playing on Jools Holland's BBC2 program.
Alberto Anaut
Singer and guitarist, he is the composer and leader of the band Anaut. Since their emergence in 2013 in the effervescent Madrid soul scene, Anaut has been growing and positioning itself as one of the main bands of the new generation of "Americana Music", along with Morgan, Aurora & The Betrayers or Julián Maeso. Supported by specialized journalism, with very good reviews and recognitions (their second LP was awarded at the Pop Eye Awards for best black music artist 2016 and the MIN award for best world music album 2017).
Adrián Costa
Singer and guitarist born in Santiago de Compostela in 1979. Adrián Costa is one of the most valued representatives of Spanish Blues. He began in his hometown at the age of 13 with the band The Red Blues Band. In 1999 he moved to Madrid, together with harmonica player Marcos Coll, to form part of the Tonky Blues Band, collaborating with artists such as Buddy Miles (Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys) and Mick Taylor (The Rolling Stones). A few years later, Marcos and Adrián decided to form Los Reyes del K.O., recording 6 albums and participating in numerous European festivals. A guitarist with a powerful voice who cannot conceive music without dancing.
