Synopsis:
Close your eyes and let yourself imagine...
In times past, a traveler wanted to reinvent the world. She embarked on a dangerous journey with faith in her own conviction. By some miracle she arrived at a new land, an island bathed in violet. It was a night clouded by cigarette smoke, deafened by the sound of drums and reeking of rum. Where had she arrived? And why did she feel such a sudden impulse?
She tried to return to that island, to that night, but she never found it again. Was it a dream, a chimera of her imagination? The memories of that night will haunt this traveler until the end of her days…
Inspired by the traditions of Haitian Vodou, and their way of celebrating All Saints' Day with their 'Fête Gede', this is a show that appropriates the spirits of another land to create a unique experience at the Casa de Colón Museum. Using dance to evoke the disconcerting discoveries of the ancestor and calm the anxieties of the present. With movement as a human need and the basis of many rites, we created a new performative ritual for this All Saints' Eve.
Free admission until full capacity.
