Constantinos Carydis, winner of the Carlos Kleiber Prize and one of the most brilliant conductors of our time, has chosen the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra for his debut in Spain. Carydis will offer us a programme that strongly projects itself towards one of the most representative figures of the 20th century, Dimitri Shostakovich, from whom we will hear the Cello Concerto No. 1 with Alexey Stadler as soloist and the Symphony No. 9. Carydis's bet is completed with two new pieces in the OFGC repertoire by two composers who also shined as conductors, Burial by Dimitri Mitropoulos and Blumine by Gustav Mahler.
