Timbres, influencias y escuchas infinitas is a hymn to the musical concept that the virtuoso jazz pianist David Sancho draws on. A meeting of classical and electronic music with an integrative vision of sounds such as jazz, flamenco, hip hop, folklore, rock... and their common denominators. A new Masterclass Thursday, with free access, which arises from the usual collaboration between the Guiniguada Theatre and Mousikê La Laguna.

Recommended age: Over 14 years old
Duration: 2 hours
Philosophy of the masterclass
David Sancho does not define himself in any musical style. Although his career began with jazz piano, the musician has experienced other facets as a hip-hop and R'n'B keyboard player. That is why his philosophy does not disdain any genre or influence. From the most genuine elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony... to the reconciliation between instruments such as the classical piano, the Fender Rhodes, analog and digital synthesizers, and electronic music; for the virtuoso pianist, music is an art in constant exploration.
A perspective that the expert will share with those attending the masterclass Timbres, influences and infinite listening. His perception relegates musical hermeticism and delves into a vast connection with all genres from the sound biography.

Career
David Sancho (Madrid, 1987) was nominated for a Latin Grammy for best instrumental album with Unbalanced (2019). This recognition is supported by his training: He graduated in Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Music in Madrid and, later, obtained the title in Jazz Piano from the Conservatory of Music in Rotterdam (Codarts Hogeschool voor de Kunsten), being awarded the Nuffic Scholarship, the most prestigious in the Netherlands.
In addition, among other awards, he was the winner of the Hazen intercentros (2003), Hazen Comunidad de Madrid (2004) and Leidse jazz award (2011) competitions, being the first winner not born in the Benelux.
In the classical field, he has recorded the 15 two-voice inventions by J.S. Bach (Ed. Enclave Creativa), and has participated with the Moisés Sánchez Ensemble in the interpretation of The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky in the Sacred Art cycles of the Teatros del Canal in Madrid. In 2019 he released Piano solo due to his concert work with the MIR (Músico Interno Residente) project at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital. In 2020, he published his second album From home, recorded during confinement, and in which he explores electronic music with synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines...
In addition, he has a third album on the market, under the name David Sancho 3, called Meditaciones. A trio album (three instruments or voices), in which the roots of the most traditional jazz are mixed with textures such as symphonic rock, classical, electronic and ambient music.
Free entry until full capacity.
